Play Skills
Many children learn through play, which is why we make it a focus in our programs. When we put together a plan, they often include play-based skills. We focus on teaching each child age-appropriate play skills to help them interact with their peers and learn from their environment. Our goal is to help your child learn to play appropriately across situations and to enjoy playing in a variety of settings.
Pre-Academic Skills
When it is time for a child to begin school, there are a lot of new experiences waiting for them and a lot of new skills they may need to practice. We have a firm understanding of what a child will be faces with when they first enter school, and we do our best to ensure that our clients are prepared to transition into a school setting when that time comes. Utilizing our program and coordinating with school staff, we provide the extra support that our clients need in order to be successful in school.
Self-Help Skills
Whether it’s getting dressed, combing hair, toilet training, feeding programs or transitioning between settings or routines, we cover it all. Our goal is to help your child become as independent as possible.
Social Skills
Social skills can serve as a foundation for success in many other areas of development. We implement social skills in each of our individualized programs. First, we break social skills down into small components such as eye contact and body language. These skills will later lead to a child engaging in interactive play, reciprocal conversation, responding to initiations from others and initiating play and conversation independently.
